Bio
Ensemble Phos is a unique musical experience with Celtic harp, bandoneon and the rare instrument tarhu. The ensemble saw the light of day in 2019 when the siblings Julie Rokseth (harp) and Andreas Rokseth (bandoneon) invited Michalis Cholevas (tarhu) to an artist residency on the small lighthouse island of Sula in Norway. Inspired by stories from the coast of Norway and the coast of Greece, about the sea, life on the coast and the light in the north and in the south, the three musicians are writing and performing original emotional music together as Ensemble Phos.

In spring 2022 the ensemble released its debut album "Fyr · Φάρος". This album is a musical intercultural dialogue between Norway and Greece and the music weaves together elements of Celtic folk, classical Ottoman music and Argentine tango. Ensemble Phos regularly tours in Norway, the Netherlands and Germany. Some of the highlights of their performances are their outdoor lighthouse concert in Aegina in September 2021, the concert in Titran Chapell in September 2023 celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the Titran lighthouse and their performance of «Aurora» on the Dutch Harp Festival 2022.
